Jeffrey Gittleman
Jeffrey Gittleman, a member, focuses his practice on complex class action litigation with an emphasis on antitrust, securities and consumer litigation. As a seasoned litigator, Mr. Gittleman has extensive experience in managing all aspects of high-stakes litigation. For over 25 years, he has represented individuals and businesses in a wide range of complex litigations, including antitrust price-fixing and monopolization class actions, consumer fraud class actions, shareholder derivative actions, and policyholder actions against insurance companies. Mr. Gittleman has also represented international, state, county, municipal and Taft-Hartley pension funds in domestic and international securities fraud litigation. He has been a critical member of lead counsel teams that successfully prosecuted numerous landmark securities class actions that recovered billions of dollars for investors. In 2018, Mr. Gittleman served as trial counsel for a class of bondholders in Becker v. BNY Mellon in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Gittleman was added to the trial team less than two months before the trial started, and helped secure a settlement of $13.5 million hours before closing arguments were set to begin. Mr. Gittleman previously served as trial counsel for Iridian Technologies, Inc. and its common shareholder-elected directors in Equity Asset Investment Trust, Inc. v. John Daugman, et al., in a case tried in Delaware Chancery Court. The case was litigated on an expedited basis under the Chancery Court’s “fast track” procedures, and went to trial two months after the complaint was filed. Mr. Gittleman is currently part of the Firm team serving as Interim Lead Counsel for the End-Payer Plaintiffs in In re Generic Pharmaceuticals Pricing Antitrust Litigation, MDL No. 2724 (E.D. Pa.), a massive price-fixing case involving dozens of defendants, a federal criminal probe, a multi-state investigation, and a number of different private plaintiff groups. He is also litigating antitrust class actions in a diverse range of industries, including automotive replacement tires, infant formula, smartphones and yachts. Mr. Gittleman received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University, where he graduated cum laude. He received his law degree from Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and was part of the Moot Court Competition Team.
